Section 501(c)(3) Status

The Riverside & Great Northern Preservation Society, Inc. has been granted 501 (c)(3) nonprofit status by the Internal Revenue Service. Donations to the Society are tax-exempt.

If you would like a copy of the IRS determination letter in connection with a planned donation, please contact us.

WHAT IS A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION?

To be tax-exempt as an organization described in IRC Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, an organization must be organized and operated exclusively for charitable, religious, educational, scientific, literary purposes, testing for public safety, fostering national or international amateur sports competition, and the prevention of cruelty to children or animals, and none of the earnings of the organization may inure to any private shareholder or individual.

In addition, to maintain tax-exempt status, an organization may not attempt to influence legislation as a substantial part of its activities and it may not participate at all in campaign activity for or against political candidates.

CONTROLLING THE ASSAULT OF NON-SOLICITED PORNOGRAPHY AND MARKETING ACT OF 2003

We comply with the Controlling the Assault of Non-Solicited Pornography and Marketing Act of 2003.

To this end, e-mails we send to our e-mail list:

  • offer members of our e-mail list a clear means of opting-out from the receipt of future messages;
  • include our mailing address (ADDRESS) within the body of the e-mail;
  • do not use false or misleading header information;
  • do not attempt to deceive e-mail recipients by using deceptive subject lines;

and, we do not:

  • use automated means to harvest e-mail addresses from web sites or web services;
  • generate e-mail addresses using programmatic methods; or
  • share our e-mail list with outside organizations or individuals.

CHILDREN'S ONLINE PRIVACY PROTECTION ACT OF 1998

We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998.

We do not knowingly collect identifiable personal information from children under age 13.

If we discover that a person under the age of 13 has provided us with any personally identifiable information, we will delete that information from our systems.

We are unable to reply to information requests from children under the age of 13, if so identified. A parent or guardian must initiate any requests for information from children under the age of 13 on their behalf. We encourage parents to supervise children when they browse the Internet.

Our web site has links to external web sites that we believe may be of interest to you. When you click on a link to another site, you are no longer on our site and are subject to the privacy policy of the new site.
